Juliette was laughing, squealing and clapping her hands as Alexander made the springy horse they were sitting on rock slightly; he was a little worried he’d break it, but was also sure the ride was fairly sturdy, what with how it had made and how it was probably about a million years old. They’d ridden on it before, on different days, and Alexander knew that little Juliette wasn’t weighty enough to make it move without him, even if he trusted her to hold on by herself and not fall off.
Alexander laughed softly as Juliette squealed again, clapping her hands and grabbing his wrists as he rocked the horse, holding her wriggling form close to him so he didn’t drop her. She was wearing a cute little woollen jumper that her grandmother had made for her, and a pair of little jeans. Alexander’s outfit wasn’t all that different, though he was wearing a dark hoodie, the pocket filled with random snacks for Juliette if she got hungry; his keys and wallet were safe in his jean pockets.
“Hi hi!” Juliette chirped, and Alexander blinked down at his daughter, before realising she was staring at someone else. Shifting his gaze, Alexander smiled warmly at the little girl who was standing before them. “Hello sweetheart,” Alexander said gently, rocking the horse again before Juliette demanded to get down so she could toddle to the older girl, looking up at her with her curly brown hair all fuzzy around her face where it had come free of her little pig tails. “She’s Juliette,” Alexander introduced, since his daughter’s limited vocabulary didn’t yet include her name. It didn’t really include much beyond ‘hi’ and ‘dada’, honestly.
