“Awesome!” Lyric beamed when Chance agreed to get ice-cream with her, expression only faltering for a few moments when he changed his order to be a popsicle. Dietary issues would suck so much! Lyric couldn’t imagine not being able to eat what she wanted to! Especially something like ice-cream, which was just too good to pass up! “I’m sure they have some variety or you could get a slushie!” Maybe that would be what she’d get. Raspberry slushie sounded amazing!
Lyric was taken aback when Chance offered to walk her home, tilting her head for a moment before shaking it gently. The offer was sweet, but Lyric was more worried about what her Papa and brother would say if they saw a young man dropping her off on the doorstep than she was walking home alone. “Noct will be waiting for me,” she said with a lopsided smile. “You don’t want to be roasted by him,” she teased, “you can walk me to my street, if you want.” That was as close as she knew her father would tolerate someone he hadn’t done a full study of.
“There’s the store!” Lyric smiled as they made their way into the store, the girl waving cheerfully to the attendant. “I think I’ll get a slushie,” she said, letting Chance know her change of mind, and she happily followed through on that, going to the counter to pay for her slushie with an app on her phone.
