The soothing words, and the dismissal of – something – had Audrey relaxing just slightly, her shoulders loosening, and she gave a small smile. She didn’t mind having goals or aspirations, but she didn’t like them when she wasn’t aware of them! Audrey didn’t like failing, whether the aspirations were her own or those of someone else – like her parents had for her during school, and now this Changing that Asher was talking of. Audrey bit her bottom lip, worrying it gently between her teeth as her alpha spoke; she tilted her head and considered.

Releasing her lip from between her teeth, Audrey quietly made her way to one side of the room, and gently placed her drink and handbag down, making sure they were out of the way of tripping and then returned to the more central spot of the room, where she’d been standing as Asher had explained what it was she was to attempt, and if she was lucky, accomplish. Audrey didn’t have very high hopes, but she would try to do as instructed – after all, that was all he was really asking of her.

Taking a deep breath in through her nose, Audrey settled lightly on the floor, crossing her legs and letting her shoulders slouch in a relaxed way, though she was still gnawing at her bottom lip as she went over – mentally – the process that had her Changing during the full moon. Despite her best efforts to relax, Audrey didn’t feel that feeling that came with the Change. She opened one eye and peered quizzically up at Asher, wondering if he had a secret sense of humour and this was some kind of initiation ritual the rest of the pack had failed to mention.

“I don’t think I’m doing it right,” she said after a long pause, twisting around to make sure her butt hadn’t sprouted a tail and holding her hands up spread fingered. She frowned, gave a huffy sigh at herself for her failure, and scrunched her eyes shut once more; This time, she focused as strongly as possible on imagining that the moon was full, shining in through the windows liquid light that forced her body to change so drastically from human to wolf. Then she felt a shiver run down the centre of her spine. “Oh!” she broke her concentration, and the sensation was gone as quickly as it had arrived. “I felt something!”
