“I guess,” Jasper said, though he didn’t seem particularly convinced of that fact. He was too busy beating himself up for not getting something out of the Null. Just a name would have been useful, but all he had was ‘Moonlight’ and who knew what kind of name that was supposed to be. Which really. “I dunno,” he replied, thinking back on the interactions he’d had with the kid and what he had – or hadn’t – gotten out of it. He was too busy feeling sulky about not getting enough information for the master, to truly appreciate the entertainment factor Moonlight had brought about. “Maybe,” he added, trying to be sassy with the sideways look he gave Fig, but it fell flat in his current mood. Instead, he fell back on his previous thoughts.
“Why would he call himself ‘Moonlight’?” Jasper asked Fig, even though he was pretty sure that wasn’t the type of question she was expecting to field from him. “Is that supposed to be a joke because he was toying with vampires?” Exasperated, Jasper grumbled to himself as he stood up suddenly and sulked across the room, pacing irritably. It didn’t last long, though, before he was back to sitting himself on the couch, pulling his legs up and wrapping his arms around them with a scowl. “Have you eaten tonight?” He wasn’t sure if he was trying to change the subject or not, but he hadn’t eaten, and was beginning to feel the prickles of need in his belly, and while he had a bit of blood on hand, it was for emergencies, and there wouldn’t be enough for both of them.
